Batteries continue to work and socks do function not as extensively as i had hoped. Battery compartments are too small, very difficult getting batteries in and out. bottom of battery compartments required re-stitching. Disappointed with cost vs effectiveness. But at least they still function!
I'm an aging skier, who increasingly has issues with the cold. A few years ago, I started to routinely use air-activated toe warmers. Then, when even those didn't prevent cold toes, in temps that were in the teens or lower, I added the neoprene boot covers. These worked well, but even they didn't keep my toes warm, if temps dropped into the single digits. I started looking at heated socks, but was turned off by the price. When I saw the Gobi socks, I wonder if their somewhat lower price, relative to many others, was reflective of quality and/or performance. When Gobi advertised a sale, I decided to give them a try - I'm really glad that I did. Even though I don't feel that my toes are "toasty warm," I haven't had cold toes, while wearing these socks; and, I haven't used my neoprene at all. Even with temps in the upper teens, my toes are comfortable, while only on level II (Level II gets me about 5hrs of heat). Even though this season hasn't found me experiencing even lower temps, I feel very confident, that, if needed, combining the socks at Level II, with my neoprene boot covers, would do the trick. On the chance that Level III MIGHT be needed , I did purchase a second set of batteries, to counter the reduced battery life, at the higher setting. The quality of the socks is way more impressive than I anticipated - this is a well-made product, and the batteries are a thinner, lighter size than some of the battery packs that I observed in some of the other products out there. I had a minor issue, with my first pair, but found customer service to be extremely responsive, and very prompt. Based upon my experience, so far, I give Gobi 4.5 stars for the product (I would give 5 stars, but I can't yet rate durability), and 5 stars for customer service. Thank you Gobi!! Bruce
As a frontline worker involved in mass vaccination efforts / these were lifesavers - as we have been moving people in and out of clinics in single digit temps. Product (so far) has been outstanding
Poor. They work or don't work very erratically. Having a warranty is beneficial, I guess, but having to return socks that were meant to keep my feet warm NOW is exceedingly frustrating. I'm going to write them off as money not well spent. I was not at all expecting a product this expensive to not work correctly. Never again.
This is the second pair of socks that have had sewing issues. Not able to recommend for this reason.
