Battery Use Guide

To get the most out of your Gobi Heat battery and to make sure you use the battery correctly, read the entirety of this page.

Q: How long should I expect my battery to last?

A: Our batteries are expected to last approximately 500 charge/discharge cycles. Their longevity is dependent upon how frequently you are using your Gobi Heat heated product.

Q: What can I do to extend the life of my battery?

A: Store batteries at a partial charge, ideally around 50% charged. Storing batteries a completely charged or completely discharged will reduce the life of your battery. You must check fully your battery at least every three to six months to ensure that it is being stored at the ideal 50% charge level. It is important to remember this during the summer, when you are less likely to be using your Gobi Heat heated product. Store your battery in a dry, cool place.

Q: How do I dispose of my batteries?

A: Lithium batteries should never be thrown away in the trash, for safety and environmental reasons. Instead, they must be recycled, we recommend https://earth911.com/ to help find a recycling drop off in your area that recycle lithium batteries.

Q: Can I bring my Litihum batteries on an airplane?

A: Our batteries are safe for travel on an airplane, however due to FAA regulations, you must pack your battery in your carry-on baggage. This is a link to the safety regulations and packing instructions the FAA lines out for these batteries. In 2025, some airlines began requiring batteries/power banks to be kept in passenger view while in use. Follow the instructions from your airline.

Q: Can I plug a different battery into my jacket?

A: Never use another battery with your jacket, lithium batteries come in different strengths, if the power of your battery is above what the jacket is capable of taking in, it is possible that the jacket could light on fire or the battery could explode. Please always be safe and use a Gobi Heat battery.

Q: Where can I buy an additional or new battery/charger?

A: Additional batteries and chargers are available here.
