Battery Use Guide

To get the most out of your Gobi Heat battery and to make sure you use the battery correctly, read the entirety of this page.

Q: How long should I expect my battery to last?

A: Our batteries are expected to last approximately 500 charge/discharge cycles. Their longevity is dependent upon how frequently you are using your Gobi Heat heated product.

Q: What can I do to extend the life of my battery?

A: You must fully charge and discharge your battery at least every three to six months. It is important to remember this during the summer, when you are less likely to be using your Gobi Heat heated product. You can do this by charging your battery to a full charge, plug your jacket in, turn it on, and leave it in a safe place. Once discharged, fully charge your battery and then store it in a dry, cool place. This will greatly lengthen the life of your battery, as long periods of disuse are bad for lithium batteries.

Q: How do I dispose of my batteries?

A: Lithium batteries should never be thrown away in the trash, for safety and environmental reasons. Instead, they must be recycled, we recommend https://earth911.com/ to help find a recycling drop off in your area that recycle lithium batteries.

Q: Can I bring my Litihum batteries on an airplane?

A: Our batteries are safe for travel on an airplane, however due to FAA regulations, you must pack your battery in your carry-on baggage. This is a link to the safety regulations and packing instructions the FAA lines out for these batteries,

Q: Can I plug a different battery into my jacket?

A: Never use another battery with your jacket, lithium batteries come in different strengths, if the power of your battery is above what the jacket is capable of taking in, it is possible that the jacket could light on fire or the battery could explode. Please always be safe and use a Gobi Heat battery.

Q: Where can I buy an additional or new battery/charger?

A: Additional batteries and chargers are available here.
